In the first part of Numbers, we saw that when the people chose to trust and obey, their journey progressed; when they chose to doubt and defy, their way grew stagnant. As we continue in our study of Numbers, God faithfully leads the Israelites onward, through the wilderness, and toward the Land of Promise. God persists in His promises to the next generation and continues to save His people from the perils of the journey.

More than mere history, the journey of the Israelites provides invaluable instruction to believers today. As we look together at the story of Numbers, the faith of the Israelites will encourage us and the failures of the Israelites will correct us, as we too faithfully follow God to the place of His promise.
