The book of Numbers reveals God to be sovereign over the way of His people, completely worthy of trust and obedience.
God led His people out of slavery and toward the Land of Promise by “the way of the wilderness”. While certainly not the most direct route, the wilderness was the means through which God prepared His people for the inheritance before them.
More than mere history, the journey of the Israelites provides invaluable instruction to believers today. As we look together to the story of Numbers, the faith of the Israelites will encourage us and the failures of the Israelites will correct us. Their journey serves as an example to us today, as faithfully follow God to the place of our own inheritance.
