Acts 1:3 says, “[Jesus] presented himself alive to [the apostles whom he had chosen] after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.” It’s no wonder that the apostles’ biggest question was, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” After seeing their risen Savior, the apostles suffered from tunnel vision, seeing only glory and power for Israel. In a passage that would change the course of human history, Jesus resets their aim from thinking about Israel’s glory to taking His Name to the nations. We have the same aim, and as we count down to the days to Christ’s return, may He find us aimful, filled with the purpose of making Him known!
